Be More Confident

Confidence is one of the best ways to start becoming a stronger person as long as you know how to be more confident. It’s more than just physical strength; it is a mental strength. When a person is confident in what they are doing several different things happen within the body and outside as well. For example when someone is nervous they will noticeably show it. They may start to perspire, chew finger nails and become erratic. Why would they do this? Do they feel like the world is sitting on their shoulders? Do they not know what to do or say? The list is endless of the reasons this happens.

Wikipedia defines confidence as "a state of being certain... that a chosen course of action is the best or most effective." It defines self-confidence as "self-assuredness in one's personal judgment, ability, power, etc."

How To Be More Confident

So how can we learn to be more confident? You can read thousands upon thousands of self-help books and still be as confident as the day you started. Gaining more confidence starts with you as a person, these may work as a guide but will never make you confident.

Believe it or not, diets help this, not weight-loss diet but your daily intake of what you eat. Scientists have proven that certain foods boost your endorphins. These endorphins are the chemical released in your brain that brings a feeling of happiness. Happiness and confidence do go hand in hand.

Updating your personal looks is another way to the end goal to be more confident. Now this isn’t saying that plastic surgery is needed or something as shallow as that, but more of a wardrobe overhaul. If you have ever watched a makeover TV show, you will see them going shopping. The fact of the matter is when you look good, you feel good. Is it superficial? No, not at all; your style is the outward presentation of the inner you. If you are a rocket scientist in a room full of Harvard alumni with ripped, dirty and old clothing your exterior is representing your interior.

Exercise is something that many people take for granted. This doesn’t mean body building or intensive US Marine Corps boot camp needs to happen but general workout sessions help greatly. It is a not so common fact that people who exercise on a daily basis have a stronger core. This can also mean taking martial arts training. There are very few other things that can help you become more confident then to be able to protect yourself.

Confidence is brought on by so many things that once you only do a few of the basic things the rest fall into place. Confidence is like a magnet; a really bright, glowing magnet. As childish as that may seem it’s the reality of it. People with confidence attract other people with confidence. People who know how to be confident most time have better jobs, more active lives and healthier bodies. To say the end goal of being confident is easy to get to would be partly untrue. It’s quite one thing to be confident at different points in your life; it’s a totally different ball game to maintain that confidence throughout your life. Will you be in a situation where you are confident all the time? No, that would be unrealistic, however, the confidence you build will allow you to be more confident when those situations arise.
